What is a Pendant Alarm?
A personal pendant alarm is a device that allows you to call for emergency help at the press of a button. It can be worn either around your wrist like a watch or as a pendant on a lanyard that you wear around your neck.
What does a Pendant Alarm do?
Our pendant alarm is designed to keep you safe at home and give you and your loved one’s peace of mind. When you press the button, the base unit immediately connects you to our dedicated care team.
Please note, our pendant alarm does not have fall detection. If you are prone to falling over or have recently suffered a fall, take a look at our fall alarm plan.
How our Pendant Alarms Work

Activate your alarm Simply press the button on your pendant, or press the red button on the base unit when you have a fall or feel unwell. You will be automatically connected to our care team within seconds.

We answer Moments later, our experienced and friendly care team will begin speaking to you through the loudspeaker on your base unit. We’ll ask you some questions, assess your situation and get you the help that you need.

Help is on the way We’ll organise the most appropriate help for you based on your situation, whether that means contacting your keyholders, or the emergency service to ensure you are not alone and to get the medical attention you need.
Personal Alarm Equipment
When you order our standard Pendant Alarm Plan you will receive two pieces of equipment.
The Base Unit
The base unit is simple and quick to install and only requires a landline phone socket and power point to have you up and running in just a few minutes.
The unit boasts a powerful loudspeaker with a volume of over 90 decibels and a very sensitive microphone which can pick up sound from all over the house. This enables the user to have a two-way conversation with an operator in our monitoring centre when the alarm is triggered.
There are security measures put in place so that you’ll be alerted should you have a power outage or failure with your telephone line. If you do have a power outage, the alarm has a 120 hour back up battery.

The Careline Pendant
The stylish and discreet push button pendant is lightweight and offers comfort and security to the user.
The careline pendant is connected wirelessly to the base unit and has a button which can be pressed in the event of an emergency. Once pushed, the user will be connected to an operator in the monitoring centre via the careline alarm base unit.
The button offers up to 100-meter range (328ft) therefore, depending on the setup and size of your property, the user can use the pendant in the garden and other areas of the house, which helps encourage independence while focusing on safety.
The pendant comes with a wearing kit, which enables flexibility when choosing how best to wear the pendant. It can be worn on the wrist, neck or attached to a belt clip. This can be interchanged when the user feels it’s suitable.
The pendant is waterproof and can be worn in the shower.

- What does the £40 setup fee cover?
This non-refundable fee of £40 enables us to prepare your careline alarm and collate all of your medical and emergency contact details on our systems.
- Do I need to test my pendant?
We recommend testing your alarm via your pendant every 4-6 weeks. Stand by your base unit and activate your alarm by pushing the button on your pendant. Wait for our team to answer the call, and simply tell them that you’re placing a test.
- What happens when I press the button?
Our monitoring team will try to talk to you over the system. They will know who you are and all of your details when they answer. They will determine the nature of the emergency and either call the designated contacts you’ve supplied or contact emergency services if required.
- How easy is it to set up my alarm?
We provide everything you need including full-colour instructions that come in the box. You simply need a telephone socket and a power socket. If you run into difficulties, contact us and our team can assist you through the process.
- Can I wear my pendant alarm in bed?
All of our devices can be comfortably worn in bed. If you choose to remove your pendant overnight, just pop it somewhere safe and easily reachable – like your bedside table or nightstand.
- What is included in my plan?
Unit, pendant with a range of up to 100m, wearing kit and 24/7 monitoring by our care team.
- Is the pendant waterproof?
Our wearable devices are waterproof. This means they are suitable to be worn in the bath or shower, but you must not fully submerge them in water for longer than 30 mins.
